It is a world that Sir William Walton regarded with parti cular interest\, recognizing its fundamental cultural and educational role .\nOver the years\, the Youth Orchestra Festival has welcomed a wide varie ty of ensembles\, including several important wind bands. The festival beg an in July 2008 with the Delianuova Youth Wind Orchestra\, an ensemble tha t had attracted the attention of Maestro Riccardo Muti\, who publicly emph asized the educational value and importance of concert bands within the It alian musical landscape.\nThe participation of the “Città di Procida” Conc ert Band continues this tradition while taking on a special significance t oday: strengthening the dialogue between La Mortella and the surrounding c ommunities\, reaffirming the desire to make the Festival increasingly open \, inclusive\, and connected to the local territory.\nThe Cultural Associa tion “Amici della Musica\,” from which the “Città di Procida” Concert Band originated\, was founded in 1982 by a group of passionate residents who w ished to preserve the memory of the island’s historic band of the 1940s an d 1950s. Since then\, thanks to the daily commitment of volunteers\, teach ers\, and musicians\, the band has become a cornerstone of the local commu nity\, offering young people a meaningful opportunity for personal and art istic growth.\nEntirely self-funded\, the Procida Band combines its concer t activity with an intense educational commitment: from its music school t o introductory courses for younger children\, from the Procida Junior Band to projects carried out in collaboration with local schools. This continu ous effort has enabled generations of young people to approach music throu gh values such as discipline\, teamwork\, mutual respect\, and a sense of belonging.\nOver the years\, the ensemble has participated in some of the most important national and international festivals and competitions\, ear ning prestigious awards and widespread acclaim from both audiences and cri tics. Hailing from the town of Bentivoglio\, just outside Bologna\, the or chestra will be conducted by Maestro Emiliano Bernagozzi.The ensemble come s to the Festival with a spirit rooted in passion\, commitment and profess ionalism. The orchestra was founded within the Orchestral Training Laborat ory promoted by the 'Il Temporale' Music School in Bentivoglio\, thanks to the close collaboration between the school's teachers and musicians of es tablished artistic and educational experience.Made up of around forty youn g musicians aged thirteen and above\, the Bentivoglio Youth Symphony Orche stra has already received important recognition\, including First Prize at the Rossini International Competition in Pesaro in 2016.
