Sport Sunday

On Sunday, 27 September, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Casamicciola Terme will come alive with Sport Sunday. The Municipality is joining the European Week of Sport with a morning dedicated to sport and community participation, taking place in Piazza Marina and along the Marina di Casamicciola Pier.

The initiative is part of the European Week of Sport, launched by the European Commission in 2015 and promoted in Italy by the Minister for Sport and Youth, with the aim of encouraging sports participation and an active lifestyle through the #BeActive campaign.

Starting at 10:00 AM, athletes and local sports clubs will fill Piazza Marina with exhibitions and demonstrations of table tennis, boxing, hip-hop dance, volleyball, football, and judo. Among the judo highlights will be champion Michela Terranova, who will take part in the event alongside fellow athletes.

Meanwhile, the Marina di Casamicciola Pier will host artistic roller skating performances, set against one of the area's most picturesque waterfront locations.

More than anything, Sport Sunday aims to give children and young people the chance to discover different sports, spark their curiosity, and bring sport into everyday public spaces, creating a special moment for the whole community to enjoy together.

The morning will be accompanied by music and entertainment from DJ Tony Romano.
