Panza is a town of about 7,000 inhabitants in the municipality of Forio.
Panza is located within the territory of the municipality of Forio, on the island of Ischia in the province of Naples.
It includes the district Cuotto and other residential areas. Its boundaries were defined by municipal census in 1871 and a second in 1881 stating:
• that the fraction Panza is limited to the east by the boundaries of Serrara Fontana, at South and in the west by the sea and to the north by the streets: Carano, Chien, Piellero and Corbaro.
• that the fraction is divided into two sections: the first called San Leonardo, includes the square, locality San Gennaro, Casa Polito, Casa Caruso, Casa Mattera, Battle House, House Fiorentino; the second scattered houses in via: Campestre, Bocca, Citara, Montecorvo, Costa, Montecorvo, Campotese.
The village extends into the territory of Forio for about 6 km², then occupying about half of the entire municipal area of ​​about 13 km². The residential center of the village is about 5 km from Forio. Along the border with the old mule capital, in via Chiena, is marked by a shrine dedicated to the patron saint of Forio, while driving along the modern driveway, the border can be placed about 2 km from the Becco d’Aquila a big green tufa rock, reminiscent of the mythical bird. To the East instead Panza borders the settlement of Succhivo, place today in the municipality of Serrara Fontana.
